At Edgewood we believe that worship is a lifestyle. That lifestyle comes from encountering the True and Living God of scripture and responding to who He is and what He has done with the praise and thanksgiving He deserves; the centerpiece of all this is the Gospel! You can do this every moment of the day by yourself, but there is something special about God's people coming together to praise Him corporately. We worship in many ways but a special way is through singing songs! Isn't it funny that the 2 commands that are written the most times in the Bible are 1) "Don't fear", and 2) "Sing to the Lord." The Bible says that "He inhabits the praise of His people." Our loving God wants what is best for you, and He knows that is a life that points back to Him in praise. Come encourage your brothers and sisters to sing God's praises together!
3 Ways to join:
The most important musical group at Edgewood is the congregational choir. Congregational singing is emphasized and encouraged in all our worship services.
Our adult choir helps lead in the 8:15 service every Sunday. They perform at least two major works every year. This group has had the privilege of being invited to sing in several churches throughout the Hopkinsville area as well as Tennessee and Indiana. They are strongly committed to caring for, praying with, and encouraging each other as a family. Membership in this group is open to anyone who has a desire to sing and love for the Lord. Rehearsal times are Sunday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. Contact Doug Center or the office for more information.
Our Worship Team leads in worship at our contemporary services every week. This ensemble is made up of instrumentalists and singers. If you are interested in becoming part of the worship team, contact Kaleb Bales or the church office. In most cases, we ask that applicants be at least 18 years of age. Some exceptions are made based on experience.
